Icosaedro | Miki Tallone | Fondazione Monte Verità | 2013
Fondazione Monte Verità
Fondazione Monte Verità commended artist Miki Tallone for developing a concept for the free dance academy, founded by Rudolf Von Laban, so as to properly celebrate its centenary. The most significant conception of Laban, creator of a dance meant to free human body from the constraints of classic ballet, is certainly the icosaedro – icosahedron. The theme was very interesting as it gave the chance to follow a complete production cycle, starting from the complex geometry, up to the actualization that has been entrusted to a young apprentice, Gionata Graber, who was just entering his fourth apprenticeship year.
They proceeded creating a sampling so as to improve the construction process. So “V” elements have been constructed and assembled and laid so as to create the icosahedron which was then reinforced by completely welding the joints using TIG process.
